The Alexander Cemetery was once called the old Phillips
family graveyard.  The cemetery was part of the Phillips
homestead located off of South Main St. in Monticello,
Kentucky.  The oldest marked grave is that of Micajah
Phillips who died in 1883.  Mr. Phillips is credited for
helping start the public school system in Wayne County.  
The cemetery's most recent burial recorded in our book
took place in December 2007.
